It's no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks are rebuilding, much to the displeasure of veterans Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

If the trade rumors concerning the captain are quiet, it is quite the opposite for the number 88. The latter has recently been linked to the Edmonton Oilers and now the Toronto Leafs would have an interest in the veteran forward.
According to reports on social media, including former NHLer Paul Bissonnette, Kyle Dubas and Kyle Davidson have had brief discussions about Patrick Kane.
It is important to note that this rumor is no more likely than the ones linking Kane to the Edmonton Oilers. It could be as simple as someone from the Maple Leafs organization calling someone from the Blackhawks organization to inquire about the price tag. No media insider or trusted NHL informant has reported any connection between the Leafs and Kane... at least not yet.
The 33-year-old forward had 26 goals and 66 assists for 92 points in 78 games last season. So he can still be very useful for an NHL team. It would not be surprising if many teams were linked to Kane when it is revealed that he is actually available in Chicago. But, for most teams, it won't be an easy trade to make given his $10.5M salary, unless a third team comes in.
