In the final seconds, the Buffalo Sabres announced a truly special signing.
Defenseman Mattias Samuelsson just signed a 7-year contract with the Sabres, a pact worth a total of $30 million, an average of $4.285 million per year.
We are talking about a player who has played 52 career games in the NHL, has 12 career points and has not even scored a career goal.
A first in history... Wow!
Samuelsson, 22, is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 227 pounds. He is a 2nd round pick (32nd overall) in 2018.
A signing that has the hockey world in an uproar.
