Thursday night, a statement from JiC Lajoie caught the attention of the Montreal Canadiens regarding Cayden Primeau.
Remember that Primeau was kicked out of the game against the Anaheim Ducks for the fourth time in seven starts this season.
According to the TVA Sports host, Primeau must return to Laval to dominate for a long period of time before settling in Montreal.
However, according to Dominique Ducharme, they have no choice but to keep Primeau with the big club, considering the injuries to Jake Allen and Carey Price, as well as the lack of experience of Michael McNiven.
However, Lajoie has come up with a rather intriguing short-term alternative. Why not bring Quebec goalie Kevin Poulin with the Habs? He currently has an AHL contract, but it could happen.
Poulin already has experience at the NHL level (50 games) from his time with the New York Islanders. We agree, in the team's current situation, Poulin could not do worse.
There is no doubt in my mind that the 31-year-old would be willing to help the Canadiens while Price and Allen are injured. It just remains to be seen if it could all come together.
