The Vancouver Canucks have hired good old Jim Rutherford to the team's staff for three seasons.
He has been named interim president and general manager.
The organization is still looking for a GM, who will be supported by an experienced man like Rutherford when a candidate is hired.
Rutherford's arrival only confirms that the rumors of Marc Bergevin going to Vancouver are now a thing of the past. Rutherford will be the next general manager of the Canucks, which means new blood on their side.
Rutherford will bring a lot of positives to this organization, including winning the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017. He is no longer employed in Pennsylvania since January 2021.
