In an interview that caused quite a stir (broadcast on TSN 690), the VP of hockey operations for the Montreal Canadiens, Jeff Gorton, outright acknowledged that there is currently tension in the Habs' locker room.

"Appearing on TSN 690 today, Gorton admitted it: there is tension within the team right now. [...]

Even at practice this morning, Gorton (who mentioned that a trade is not imminent, by the way) felt that there was a persistent tension within the team..." - From the article by Félix Forget (DLC.com)

Martin St-Louis has just contradicted Jeff Gorton regarding the tension that is allegedly present in the Canadiens' camp right now

In a press conference in the last few minutes, Martin was questioned about the issue and Gorton's statement. See what he had to say:

"I wouldn't say there is tension within the team. Disappointment, maybe. But tension, no. I would have to ask Jeff Gorton what he meant by that." -MSL

So, the coach doesn't seem to agree with his boss on the matter of tension, or at least, they will have to clarify things behind the scenes.

Personally, from what we see and especially with the arrival of Arber Xhekaj in the Habs, the atmosphere seems to be very positive and pleasant.
