A frightening scene occurred Wednesday night during the Western Hockey League (WHL) final between the Edmonton Oil Kings and the Seattle Thunderbirds. Kaiden Guhle's teammate, Brendan Kuny, was forced to leave the ice on a stretcher after making contact with Tyrel Bauer.
It's hard to see if the collision was intentional, but Bauer received a major penalty and a game misconduct on the play.
The Oil Kings eventually won the game by a score of 3-2, taking a stranglehold on the series which they now lead 3-0. Edmonton's next win will not only secure the league championship, but also an appearance in the Memorial Cup tournament.
Since the start of the playoffs, CH prospect Kaiden Guhle has scored 7 goals and 8 assists for a total of 15 points, and has a +17 rating.
