At the morning practice, Martin St-Louis concocted new and controversial trios due to the absence of Josh Anderson because of his suspension and the return from injury of the unloved Evgenii Dadonov.
However, Marty did introduce a big surprise at practice, putting Arber Xhekaj on the first power play, along with Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach and Juraj Slafkovsky.
The 21-year-old defenseman will have a great chance to show what he can do offensively, as he has a powerful shot from the point. He had produced a lot of goals as a defenseman during his last year of junior.
The fact that Slaffy is there also is another nice surprise, as he seems to be finding his feet in recent games, having found the back of the net three times in his last five games.
