Following the bad news at the beginning of camp, when the Montreal Canadiens organization announced that Nick Suzuki and Joel Edmundson are injured, we finally have some news.
Regarding Suzuki's injury:
But also regarding the injury suffered by Joel Edmundson. And this is good news.
Let's remember what the CH mentioned at the beginning of the week:
- Joel Edmundson is injured in the lower body and he will be absent indefinitely.
There was a lot of concern, but the excellent journalist Eric Engels, who covers the CH for Sportsnet, just went to the sources, to give us a nice update.
There's news
In the last few seconds, Engels has posted this, among other things:
"After checking in with sources, the feeling is that Joel Edmundson (who is out indefinitely with a back injury) is progressing well + may not be out of the game too long."
Under the circumstances, and considering what happened last year, this is very positive as an update, and is an important development.
It seems to indicate that we probably won't (thankfully) relive the 2021 scenario, in Edmundson's case.
Edmundson, 29, had 6 points (3 goals) in only 24 games in 2021-2022
More details to follow!
