There is news on the Coyotes saga in Arizona, as the organization pleaded last night to convince the city of Tempe to accept their new arena project.

The ultimate project for the survival of the Coyotes in the Arizona desert.

The commissioner of the NHL, Gary Bettman, on his side (no surprise) offered his full support to the proposal, without any condition, except one:

A huge :

We're talking about a document that would require the Coyotes to stay in Tempe, Arizona for at least 30 years. Wow!

That's a 30-year no relocation clause, which would allow the Coyotes here to stay in Tempe, and Arizona, for a long, long time.

So we could forget, for at least 30 years, the idea of seeing the team move to Quebec or Houston, for example.

Remember that we are talking about a team that will play in an arena with less than 4700 seats next season.

As Alex Desrosiers (Rumeursdetransaction.com) reports, at the end of the day, Tempe City Council members voted "YES" to move forward with the next step in building this new arena. It's going in the right direction and as soon as it's approved, that's when the NHL and the Coyotes will sign their ridiculous 30 year contract.
