In an era where we are constantly trying to be careful about what we say, in order to treat players with respect, there is a statement from veteran journalist François Gagnon that did not go over well yesterday.
Montreal Canadiens fans didn't like it and they let it be known on social networks.
Wideman, who is a much appreciated teammate, who doesn't bother anyone and who perfectly accepts his role, was the target of a rather degrading comment coming from the respected journalist of RDS.
Here is one of the lines that is still being talked about (even today):
"It's not like Wideman is a great hockey player either!" - François Gagnon
See the clip in question:
It's not the worst insult in the world, but it was unnecessary (as a comment) according to many, and it's especially the way of saying it here that is not unanimous.
Do you think it was within the limits? Do you think it was tactless?
