The Toronto Maple Leafs had an extremely embarrassing night of work last night as they blew a 3-1 lead and lost 4-3 to the worst team in the National Hockey League.
That gave the Anaheim Ducks their second win of the season (in nine games).
As you can imagine, Toronto is in a state of flux today, and the media and fans are going crazy over the organization.
An awkward clip that sums up the game.
In the first period, Leafs forward
Calle Jarnkrok took a shot on net, and teammate Alex Kerfoot -
who obviously thought the shot had foiled the Ducks goalie - started celebrating and raised both arms in the air.
The result: the puck never entered the net, and the only person who could have completed the play (and scored the goal) had both arms in the air.
You can guess what happened next:
Kerfoot's early celebration seems to have robbed Toronto of a sure goal. (a goal that could have made the difference in the game)
Ouch. That sums up the game and the Leafs season so well.
An embarrassing sequence.
