Chantal Machabée tells a funny story about Cole Caufield and fans will love it

This Tuesday morning, Montreal Canadiens vice-president of hockey communications Chantal Machabée was on 91.9 Sports to discuss several topics. In addition to making a major correction regarding Shea Weber, she also told a tasty anecdote regarding Cole Caufield.
Here's what she had to say:
"I had a great meeting with Cole Caufield last week, I sat down with him in the locker room then told him 'you're gold in the bank for the rest of us Cole'. He has such an amazing personality this kid, he's always laughing, dancing, joking, laughing at himself, he's cool right now."
"Then I said to him: "you have to show that, you have to be yourself in front of the media". I told him "yay you get to the press briefing and you shut up, that's not what I want".

In response to Caufield, the former journalist simply replied that this is definitely her wish. Everything seems to have worked, because a few days later, the young man gave an interview to Jean-François Chaumont of the Journal de Montréal that was superb and even surprised the journalist. The latter even mentioned to Chantal after his interview that he had discovered a new person.
This little anecdote shows very well the change in culture that the organization has instituted since the change of guard in the club's staff. It's all for the best, as the buzz with the team, despite its failures, is at an all-time high. Let's hope it continues this way for a long time to come.
