As more and more rumours emerge about a possible upcoming trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers, who have reportedly discussed Jake Allen according to Elliotte Friedman, there is new development!

A major development.

"Darren Dreger said this morning on TSN690 that the Habs are keeping an eye on the young forward from the Oilers organization, Xavier Bourgault (1st rd pick in 2021)."

Wow. A very big file to monitor.

If Allen is indeed traded to the Oilers, expect the young Bourgault to be targeted.

Bourgault, a 21-year-old hometown forward, is the Oilers' 22nd overall pick (1st round) in 2021. He is very promising.

He has four points in seven games this season in the AHL.
