Rangers Put Another Forward on the Trade Block: Proposed Deal Involving the Canadiens Emerges
In recent days, it has been revealed that New York Rangers General Manager Chris Drury is open to making a trade.
This may seem a bit surprising for the New York organization, as they have been among the top teams in the NHL in recent seasons.
That said, while it might be surprising to hear that Kreider and Trouba are available on the market, it's an entirely different story when it comes to forward
Kaapo Kakko.
A new development involving Kaapo Kakko on the trade market
The second overall pick in the 2019 draft has not lived up to the Rangers' expectations, even though he has had a respectable start to the season with 13 points in 24 games.
"Several teams are circling around Chris Drury and the Rangers, beyond what has been speculated this week regarding the availability of Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider. I'm told that Kaapo Kakko's name has resurfaced.
Ice time is an issue. Kakko probably wants a fresh start, but again, if they trade pieces like him, the return must be exactly what the Rangers want. But there is undoubtedly interest."
In fact, the insider's comments suggest that if Chris Drury and Kent Hughes were to discuss a potential trade, it would need to involve a player similar to Kakko on the Canadiens' roster.
That is to say, a forward filled with potential but underperforming offensively since the start of his career.
In this category, some players from the Canadiens could be identified, but it's highly likely that the New York Rangers General Manager would demand nothing less than a player of
Kirby Dach's caliber.
The parallel between Kakko and Dach is evident, and perhaps a change of scenery could benefit both players.
Of course, this is merely a personal opinion and not a grounded rumor, but I still pose the question to you:
