Even though Jordan Kyrou wasn't traded to the Montreal Canadiens during the offseason, nothing suggests that Kent Hughes has abandoned the idea of acquiring him.

We recall that numerous rumors linked the St. Louis Blues forward to the Canadiens last summer, but the price demanded by Blues GM Doug Armstrong was likely too high.
However, according to Marco D'Amico, the Blues' poor start to the season could push Armstrong to trade certain players, including Jordan Kyrou.

It's confirmed: the Montreal Canadiens will be interested in Jordan Kyrou if he becomes available, and Kent Hughes is simply waiting for the St. Louis Blues' decision regarding their forward

As reported by DansLesCoulisses.com, Kyrou might even be willing to waive his no-trade clause to join the Canadiens, which would likely lower the asking price from the Blues general manager.
"After all, things are going badly right now for the Blues. The team isn't off to a good start and, if it continues, we could see some guys becoming available on the trade market.

If that happens, Kyrou's name could end up among that group.

And Marco D'Amico sees the Canadiens being interested in him if the Blues decide to go down that road, and if the player in question is willing to waive his no-trade clause in order to be traded to Montreal."

At the time of writing, the Blues sit 31st in the overall standings, and if things don't change quickly, Kent Hughes may once again get a call from Doug Armstrong.
As we reported earlier this week, Jordan Kyrou's benching wasn't just a wake-up call, Montgomery made it clear that anyone can sit if this start continues. Now the real question is how Kyrou responds, because the spotlight on him isn't fading anytime soon.
