Big scoop from Pierre Lebrun on a trade negotiated between the Canadiens and Predators

Renowned insider Pierre LeBrun, from TSN, has just revealed a big scoop involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
A major trade was indeed negotiated between Hughes (Canadiens) and Barry Trotz (Nashville Predators), and it involved young goaltender Yaroslav Askarov.
In fact, the Canadiens were among the 5 finalist teams to acquire Askarov.

However, Askarov was ultimately sent to the San Jose Sharks.

In short, according to what Pierre LeBrun has learned from very reliable NHL sources, the Canadiens were indeed among the five teams that had discussions with the Predators about Yaroslav Askarov.
