A 21-year-old Dekhockey goalie dies during a game
The tragedy occurred this past weekend during a Dekhockey tournament in Trois-Rivières, and it was young Zachary Bourassa who passed away.
A local goalie, passionate about Dekhockey, and an incredibly likable young man, Zachary Bourassa was playing in the finals of the Trois-Rivières tournament with his usual team when the worst happened.
Here's the account of the events, as reported by Normandin.
Afterward, resuscitation efforts were quickly made to revive the unconscious young man, but sadly, they were unsuccessful.
We particularly recognize the efforts of a nurse and a respiratory therapist, who performed chest compressions after chest compressions to try to save Zachary, but to no avail.
We are speechless and absolutely devastated.

Another witness, present at the tournament, told HF that Zachary showed no signs, at any point during the day, of what was about to happen.
He had just celebrated his 21st birthday, imagine that... We are at a loss for words.
We truly want to offer our most sincere condolences to Zach's family and loved ones.
