We have a second major signing to announce, and the Montreal Canadiens officially have their answer.
For the second day in a row, a solid potential second-line center is taken off the market and removed from Kent Hughes and the Canadiens' list of possible targets.
After Matt Duchene yesterday..
Now it's Jonathan Toews' turn to officially choose his team for the 2025-26 season.
Jonathan Toews signs with the Winnipeg Jets
Here's the confirmation from the well-known Pierre LeBrun.
"Hearing that Jonathan Toews has an agreement to sign with the Winnipeg Jets. The contract can't be registered until July 1.
But Toews has decided to join his hometown Jets according to league sources."

It will be a one-year deal for Toews there.
Toews, 37, recorded 31 points in 53 games with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022-23, his most recent season, and 37 points in 71 games in 2021-22.
He will certainly strengthen and bring a lot of experience to the Jets' center depth.
"Came together late yesterday. Winnipeg considered Toews a top priority when he declared his intent to play next season."
