Many Montreal Canadiens fans are wondering why the St. Louis Blues would want to trade such a dominant forward like Jordan Kyrou.

Let's not forget, we're talking about a player who has produced at a pace of 83 points, 75 points, 67 points, and 70 points (per 82 games) over the past four seasons, while scoring 36 goals, 31 goals, 37 goals, and 27 goals.
You can definitely call him a 70-80 point player and a 30-40 goal scorer per season.
That's rare in the NHL!
So why would they want to trade him?
A story from several months ago has resurfaced regarding Jordan Kyrou, and it could help explain a lot.

Jordan Kyrou once disrespected his former St. Louis Blues head coach, according to local media

This raises the question of whether this situation is impacting the current trade rumors.
We can clearly rule out a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Kyrou, which is again good news for the Montreal Canadiens-but more importantly, it opens the door to several conclusions.
In this DLC article, the following excerpt sheds light on the off-ice situation that caused a stir:
"The club's star [Jordan Kyrou] simply said he didn't want to comment on the situation.. Because Berube is no longer his coach.

Let's just say that says a lot about how Kyrou viewed his former coach."

- DansLesCoulisses

In short, after the St. Louis Blues fired Craig Berube, Kyrou was asked to comment on the news and offer a small tribute to Berube's time with the team..
And in a dry and irritated tone, Kyrou said the following:
Yes, it revealed a lot about their relationship, but at the same time, it's perfectly normal for a coach and player to have some friction.
I'm bringing it up today because it could explain why Kyrou is now available on the trade market.
Situations like this leave a mark within an organization-especially knowing that Doug Armstrong, the current GM of the St. Louis Blues, has always held Craig Berube in very high regard despite everything.
