While the organization initially announced that Arber Xhekaj's press briefing would take place at 11 AM, there was ultimately a change of plans and a delay.
Many of you were asking why we still hadn't heard from the Sheriff, but at 12:35 PM (shortly after half past noon), Arber Xhekaj finally appeared before the journalists via ZOOM.
Fans were eagerly awaiting his appearance.
Highly Anticipated Press Conference with Arber Xhekaj
We were eager to hear from him, especially after his surgery and the signing of his contract, but Xhekaj had only positive news to report.
See his full interview right here:
He mentioned that the rehabilitation is going extremely well, that he is practically already "ready-to-go" and ready for training camp.
He mentioned that he is back on the ice and added that he will not change his style of play due to his shoulder surgeries. He is simply eager to start playing at 100%.
Xhekaj also had a clear message to the fans. He believes that the Canadiens can make the playoffs this upcoming season:
"Our goal is to make the playoffs next season. We can no longer lose these overtime games. We need to find the solution." - Xhekaj
Let's recall that earlier today, the Montreal Canadiens announced they had awarded a two-season contract to Arber Xhekaj.
A superb contract for Kent Hughes and the organization, once again!
