What a pleasant surprise for Patrik Laine. The Montreal Canadiens have just announced the little miracle we were all hoping for.
Laine will not require surgery after all, and he has only suffered a "simple" sprain to his left knee that will not need an operation.
Of course, it's still painful and it still means a long-term absence, but under the circumstances, this is incredible news.
It seems all the ligaments are intact, and even in my wildest dreams, I never could have hoped to see Patrik Laine back in two months.
We are likely to see him return in January.
