We have apparently just received our answer regarding the Montreal Canadiens' goaltender, Samuel Montembeault. We were eager to see if he would once again be back in net tonight as the starter, and everything indicates that the answer is yes.

As reported by journalist Guillaume Lefrançois, Montembeault was the first goaltender to head to the locker room and was the first to leave the Canadiens' practice live from the Bell Centre.

Samuel Montembeault just left Canadiens practice first: everything indicates he will be the starting goalie tonight against the San Jose Sharks

That is an interesting decision.

Let's wait and see, but TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has already confirmed the news.
Jakub Dobes is therefore still waiting for his first start since returning from the Four Nations Face-Off break.
Samuel Montembeault, 28 years old, 6 feet 3 inches, and 218 pounds, has a record of 20 wins, 21 losses, and 3 overtime losses this season, with a goals-against average of 2.90 and a save percentage of .899.
Jakub Dobes, 23 years old, 6 feet 4 inches, and 215 pounds, has a record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 1 overtime loss this season, with a goals-against average of 2.71 and a save percentage of .908.
Everything suggests that we are back to a clear number one and number two goaltender system in Montreal, at least for now.
You can understand Martin St-Louis, especially since Montembeault has been playing so well since returning from the Four Nations Face-Off.
He seems to have been inspired by Jordan Binnington in the grand final.
Update: It is now 100% confirmed-Samuel Montembeault will be in net tonight against the San Jose Sharks.
More details to follow.
