There could be reinforcements in Martin St-Louis' and the Montreal Canadiens' lineup as early as today, according to TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie.
Quietly, these are still two important players who were injured at the same time, and it raised concerns for many heading into the end of the season and the potential playoffs.
However, Renaud Lavoie offered some reassurance regarding the veteran defenseman.
David Savard should join the Canadiens lineup as reinforcements as early as tonight, according to Renaud Lavoie
According to the TVA Sports insider, Savard is indeed expected to be at his post for tonight's very important game against the Detroit Red Wings.
"I think David Savard should play tonight," he said, while not ruling out 100% the possibility of another missed game.
"I know that, on Saturday, something may have been bothering him from the first period on."

Martin St-Louis and the Canadiens' management will be more cautious with how they use David Savard, especially in back-to-back games
Renaud also adds that Martin St-Louis and the Habs could be particularly careful with Savard when it comes to the infamous "two games in two nights."
We can therefore understand that the second game in less than 24 hours, in Nashville, seemed to have played a role in the decision to scratch Savard from the lineup.
This is a developing story today.
