We are still awaiting news regarding the exact length of Patrik Laine's absence (as well as David Reinbacher's), but it's clear the organization is preparing for the worst.
It would have been so easy for him to take the day off today, considering the difficult circumstances, but he still made sure to be present this morning in Brossard.
That says a lot about him.
Let's remember that Patrik Laine, 26 years old, played only 18 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets (6 goals and 3 assists).
He was acquired by Kent Hughes this past August 19th, along with a second-round draft pick, in exchange for young defenseman Jordan Harris.
