The Montreal Canadiens forward, Patrik Laine, made a gesture that spoke volumes over the past few hours.
He was the very first player to hit the ice in Brossard to give himself the best chance possible to shake off the rust.
Yes, he has character, and yes, he has a strong work ethic.

With all the talent he possesses, along with the desire and hard work he has shown since arriving in Montreal, I'm convinced that Patrik Laine will quickly find his touch again, and I am certain he will become a very interesting asset for Martin St-Louis's lineup.
At the moment, Laine looks like a player who is genuinely determined to become the best version of himself, and he seems to have matured greatly.
We've especially seen it during preseason games, with a few solid defensive sequences.
Let's remember that Patrik Laine, 26 years old, only played 18 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets (6 goals and 3 assists).
It's great to see that he is truly using the training camp to shake off the rust and be at his best for the first game of the season.
