Oilers Forward Makes Bold Statement About Canadiens Forward Ivan Demidov's NHL Future

It already feels like a long time ago, but Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens pulled off quite the acquisition by getting their hands on young Ivan Demidov.
First, by successfully drafting him 5th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, and then by signing him before the end of the 2024-2025 regular season.
There has been no shortage of positive comments about young Demidov, and now we can add a current Stanley Cup Finalist to the list of those who truly believe in him.

Podkolzin, 23 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward who was drafted 10th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 2019 (1st round).
The fellow Russian of young Demidov recorded 24 points in 82 games this season, including 8 goals, and added 10 points in 22 playoff games.
He's quietly developing into a solid NHL power forward.
In his NHL career so far, Vasily Podkolzin has tallied 59 points in 219 games (26 goals and 33 assists).
He certainly seems convinced that Ivan Demidov will turn out to be a major win for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
