NHL players rank Montreal as the No.1 landing spot for Sidney Crosby if he leaves the Penguins

Recently, National Hockey League players weighed in on an interesting topic involving Sidney Crosby and the Montreal Canadiens.
As you know, Crosby's name has been heavily linked to the Canadiens in recent months, but the strong start to the season by the Pittsburgh Penguins poured a bit of cold water on that speculation.
That said, the Penguins are starting to come back down to earth and have begun to slide in the overall NHL standings, so don't be surprised if rumors involving No. 87 pick up again.
NHL players weigh in on Sidney Crosby's next team
As reported by Charles-Alexis Brisebois (DLC), The Athletic recently surveyed 118 NHL players, including (at least) one of Sidney Crosby's teammates, and those players were asked, among other things, about the team Crosby will play for next season.
"In a survey (conducted by journalists from The Athletic) with 118 players, one question was asked concerning Sidney Crosby: where will he play next year?
Unsurprisingly, nearly three out of four players (87, in fact) answered Pittsburgh.
But if he leaves, the most popular answer is Montreal, with 15 votes."

According to NHL players, Sidney Crosby is likely to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins next season, but if he changes addresses, the Montreal Canadiens are the destination that comes up most often. Interesting!
One player who voted for the Pittsburgh Penguins even added this:
"I don't think Crosby will ever leave.
But it would be Montreal if he did."

There it is: Crosby will always be linked to Montreal one way or another, and we love it!
