The worst-case scenario is unfortunately starting to be confirmed for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault.

The worst-case scenario is starting to be confirmed for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault
He is truly in the process of losing his position with Team Canada, according to LeBrun and Johnston.
Pierre LeBrun / Chris Johnston:
Regarding Team Canada's goaltenders: "We believe Binnington remains a lock."
"Hill's injury and Montembeault's early-season struggles, though, certainly open the door."
- The Athletic
The door is therefore wide open for other Canadian goaltenders to push Montembeault out.
Let's remember that only three goalies were invited to Team Canada's camp last August (Binnington, Hill, and Montembeault).
The decision from management seemed set, but all of that has changed since the start of the season!
We sincerely hope Samuel can return to being the goalie he was last season, because representing your country at the Olympic Games is no small thing!
It's the dream of many athletes - and certainly a dream for Monty.
Samuel Montembeault, 29 years old, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 218 pounds, currently has a record of 4 wins, 3 losses, and one overtime loss this season, with a goals-against average of 3.46 and a save percentage of .864.
In his career, he has an 84-87-29 record, with a 3.22 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage.
