Montreal Canadiens Organization Officially Parts Ways With Forward
We've got some action within the Montreal Canadiens organization at the third-tier level. The Trois-Rivières Lions, the Canadiens' ECHL affiliate, have just released a forward.
So we can forget about him moving forward.
The 22-year-old forward, William Provost, has officially been released by the Trois-Rivières Lions.

One thing's for sure, you can't say he doesn't love hockey or isn't persistent. This young man has played for eight (8) teams over just the past three seasons.
Provost, a 6-foot, 194-pound center from Senneterre, Quebec, played for only one team during his five seasons in the QMJHL.
With the Val-d'Or Foreurs, he recorded 68 points in 66 games, followed by 42 points in 66 games over his final two junior seasons.
Since turning pro in 2022-23, Provost has played for:
- Fort Wayne Komets
- Allen Americans
- Maine Mariners
- Wheeling Nailers
- Worcester Railers
- Indy Fuel
- Iowa Heartlanders
- Trois-Rivières Lions..
All of that in just under three seasons.
In any case, we sincerely wish him the best of luck moving forward and had hoped he'd be able to find stability within an NHL, affiliated organization.
