We're obviously keeping a close eye on what's happening with Ivan Demidov and the Montreal Canadiens. Today, the day after the game against the Chicago Blackhawks at the Bell Centre, Martin St-Louis' squad held a rare full and regular practice.
Was Ivan Demidov going to be given a new role?
Was he finally going to be placed on the first power play unit?
Martin St-Louis has decided to keep Demidov on the second unit, despite everything we saw yesterday.. Well then!
It's starting to look a lot like the debate we had with
Lane Hutson at the beginning of the season.
Martin St-Louis decides to keep Ivan Demidov on the second PP unit
That gives us the following setup:
#1 - Laine, Hutson, Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky
#2 - Matheson, Demidov, Newhook, Kapanen, Gallagher
Do you like the decision?
Habs fans showed their displeasure on social media:
Personally, I understand Martin St-Louis not wanting to shake everything up right away, but at the same time, the Canadiens' power play is in a serious dry spell.
The numbers speak for themselves.
Do you believe Demidov should be placed on the first power play unit?
We're assuming here that
Nick Suzuki and Lane Hutson are staying put.
