Logan Mailloux, traded by the Montreal Canadiens to the St. Louis Blues for Zachary Bolduc, has sent an interesting message to his former organization.

He wants to see Florian Xhekaj in the NHL as early as this season (2025-2026).
In an interview on Tony Marinaro's podcast last night, that's the message he clearly delivered.

Mailloux truly believes that the younger Xhekaj is absolutely ready for the NHL. Interesting.

Logan Mailloux sends his message about Florian Xhekaj

Listening to Mailloux speak, you can really sense that he has great respect for the Xhekaj brothers, and it feels like they will all remain friends despite everything.
"I'd like to see him in the NHL this season, but obviously I'm not the one who makes the decision. I think Florian Xhekaj should be in the NHL. Sneaky skill, and he will fight anyone. He scored 24-25 goals and didn't have any PP time."

Let's just say the message is very clear.
Obviously, Mailloux didn't bring it up to stir the pot or anything like that, but let's just say he possibly wanted to give a little boost to his good friend Florian Xhekaj.
Xhekaj, age 21, is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound left-handed forward capable of playing center. Considering the Canadiens' need at the position, despite having signed hometown talent Joe Veleno earlier this week, Xhekaj may have a chance.
The Montreal Canadiens' 4th-round pick in 2023 (101st overall) tallied 35 points in 69 games in 2024-2025 with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, including an impressive 24-goal performance.
He also racked up 175 penalty minutes.
To see Mailloux send such a message on behalf of one of his former teammates says a lot about the kind of friend he is.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the 2025 training camp has in store.
