Montreal Canadiens prospect, Michael Hage, is truly turning heads at the 2026 World Junior Hockey Championship.

At this year's World Juniors, Hage already has 9 points in 5 games. He has 2 goals and 7 assists, and he is among the tournament's leading scorers. Canada reached the semifinals after a preliminary round totaling 11 points in 4 games.
On Sunday, Canada faces Czechia, with the game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Michael Hage as reinforcement for the Montreal Canadiens following his strong showing at the 2026 World Juniors?

As the young Canadiens prospect continues to pile up eye-catching numbers, the door does indeed seem to be open.
At the University of Michigan, Hage was named Big Ten Rookie of the Year, and he finished his freshman season with 34 points, including 13 goals and 21 assists. He stands 6 feet 1, weighs 199 pounds, and is 19 years old.
What reignites the debate is the timing of a possible signing with the Canadiens. Hage has not yet signed an entry-level contract, so the scenario of an agreement after the end of his NCAA season comes up often.
In an interview on RDS, Kent Hughes hinted that an approach would be made once Hage's season is over.
"Nothing surprising here but Kent Hughes basically confirmed they will try to sign Michael Hage once his season is over in the NCAA."
So don't be surprised if, following his dominant World Junior Championship, Hage has officially convinced Kent Hughes and the Canadiens' management.
Don't be surprised if he signs and joins the Montreal Canadiens as soon as his run at Michigan comes to an end.
