We will be keeping a very close eye on the NHL waivers today.

On Monday afternoon, we told you about Jonatan Berggren, a young, promising, and intriguing forward who was placed on NHL waivers.
He has a profile similar to that of a certain Alexandre Texier, who has become-at least so far-quite an acquisition for the Montreal Canadiens.
But that's not all!

Three players are available for free on NHL waivers today, including goaltender Laurent Brossoit

In my humble opinion, there is absolutely no doubt that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens should claim Brossoit.
The one and only reason they might possibly pass on Brossoit is if they intend to keep Jacob Fowler in Montreal for good.
Brossoit can be an excellent goaltender, and acquiring him for free could truly change the Tricolore's season (if, and only if, Hughes intends to send Jacob Fowler back to the Laval Rocket).
According to multiple reports by solid sources such as Pierre LeBrun, Frank Seravalli, and David Pagnotta, Kent Hughes has recently tried to complete a trade to acquire a goaltender.
Well, here's one now-and he's free, on top of that!
Laurent Brossoit, 32 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 203-pound goaltender who has posted a career record of 64 wins, 46 losses, and 13 overtime losses in the National Hockey League.
He has a goals-against average of 2.64 and a save percentage of .911. Yes, that is significantly better than struggling Samuel Montembeault.
In 2023-2024, he posted a .927 save percentage with the Winnipeg Jets. In 2022-2023, he also recorded a very strong .927 save percentage, this time with the Vegas Golden Knights.
