Montreal Canadiens forward, Josh Anderson, unfortunately had to leave Thursday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

An in-game announcement quickly cooled the Canadiens' bench, as the organization announced that Josh Anderson (injured) would not return to the game.
The message came quickly, with no further details. When that happens, concern always rises another notch.
What complicates matters is the context. Anderson had just scored his 9th goal of the season in a 7-5 victory. It was an unassisted goal, scored in the second period, in a game that turned into a roller coaster.
In short, coming back to Anderson, this announcement caused some confusion, because no one knew when or how he had suffered the injury.
Today, we have details.

It would be a hip injury for Josh Anderson, according to what's circulating

This is exactly the kind of situation that usually becomes clearer at the next practice or the next press conference, but we already have a pretty good idea.
It's definitely worse than expected, if it really is the hip that's affected. Anderson is 31 years old and is still at the heart of the lineup. His contract runs through the end of the 2026-2027 season and pays him 5.5 million per year.
The schedule, however, does not wait. The group is already traveling, with an afternoon game on Saturday against the St. Louis Blues. If Anderson misses time, Montreal will once again have to call on reinforcements, likely from the Laval Rocket.
There are dozens of comments like this circulating, but we will provide an official update when the time comes.
