Before puck drop in yesterday's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Rangers, an unusual warmup incident caught attention.

As TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie reported, Quick crossed the center line and went into the Canadiens' designated zone during the warmup period. A move that did not go unnoticed.
It is worth noting that since last spring, Gary Bettman and the National Hockey League have adopted a zero-tolerance approach toward anyone who violates the rules during warmups.
And that is exactly what New York Rangers goaltender Jonathan Quick did yesterday. So do not be surprised if Gary Bettman and the NHL announce sanctions today for what happened before the game.

Possible sanctions from Gary Bettman being monitored following what happened on the ice before the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers

Renaud Lavoie explained clearly what happened.
"A strong rivalry has developed between the two teams, and it started during the last game.

Remember, we had seen Jonathan Quick, who was the Rangers' goaltender for that game, and he was not happy with a play by Lane Hutson.

He felt that Lane Hutson had stuck his knee out on one of his players, which was completely false.

Look, tonight, at the beginning of the game, there was a discussion between Jonathan and Brandon Gallagher. Did they talk about the incident that happened during last game or no?...

We know that Quick is hot blooded. Yes, that's right."

And indeed, that led to the scene involving Jonathan Quick and Brendan Gallagher during the warmup last night.
This will therefore be a situation to monitor today, ahead of the matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers.
In the end, the Canadiens lost 5-4 in overtime, which led Martin St-Louis to call out his team's poor execution and repeated mistakes in yet another disappointing performance.
