Ivan Demidov Shares His True Thoughts on What Happened at Toronto Airport Last Night

The images spread like wildfire on social media, but Ivan Demidov received a grand welcome at Toronto Pearson International Airport last night.
Dozens of Montreal Canadiens fans showed up at the airport to greet Ivan and his girlfriend upon their arrival in Canada.
Some harshly criticized this "circus," while others defended what happened last night.
Yes, it was intense, but I truly believe Ivan enjoyed it, as his reaction shows.
Today, we finally know what Demidov really thought about the whole thing.
Marco D'Amico confirms that Ivan Demidov truly appreciated last night's welcome in Toronto
And there it is.
D'Amico, who clearly has great contacts close to Demidov and recently spoke with him, confirms that the young Canadiens forward felt that what he experienced last night was pretty special (in a positive way).
Here's what was said:
"Honestly, why would you care if someone uses their own time to go to the airport and wait for an athlete?
Completely harmless.
A handful of fans greeting a player might be 'cringe', sure, but it must be exhausting being cool all the time.
Let them have their fun.
I'd bet a nickel that Demidov thought it was pretty cool, if not incredibly fanatical.

And in response to Dumont's comment, saying he's certain Demidov appreciated last night's welcome, Marco D'Amico added:
"Can confirm it!"
Bingo!
That proves that, behind the scenes, Demidov mentioned he genuinely appreciated what happened last night at the Toronto airport.
Some say it was over the top, and everyone's entitled to their opinion, but let's not act like there were 5,000 people there either.
According to witnesses on site, there were just dozens of fans who came to greet Demidov.. and the important thing is, we now know the young player truly appreciated it!
