Habs Prospect Jacob Fowler Drops a Major Hint About His Future, And Fans Will Love It
Montreal Canadiens prospect Jacob Fowler is having a phenomenal season in the NCAA with the Boston College Eagles. He is dominating American college hockey to such an extent that many believe he has nothing left to prove at this level.
And this is only his second season in the NCAA.
The numbers he has accumulated in such a short time are nothing short of impressive:
Record of 52-11-2
Nine shutouts
Goals-against average: 1.96
Save percentage: .930
A Jump to Professional Hockey as Early as Next Season for Jacob Fowler
In recent months, every time he was asked if this would be his last season in the NCAA, Fowler remained cautious.
In an interview with Marco D'Amico from RG.org last fall, the Canadiens prospect mentioned that he wanted to focus on his current season.
"I love Montreal, but I have to focus on what's ahead of me right now.
I have a few trophies to win here in the NCAA, like the Beanpot, the Hockey East playoffs, and the NCAA championship.
Those are my immediate goals, and I want to do everything I can to help my team achieve them."

However, things now seem to have changed, as in a recent interview with Jonathan Bernier of TVA Sports, Fowler appears eager to move on.
"I think I'm ready for the professional level.
In fact, every day, I train to get closer to the next level.
I want to make the jump sooner rather than later."

Kent Hughes will be able to negotiate Fowler's NHL entry-level contract as soon as his season ends.
After that, he could finally join the organization and, who knows, even play some games with the Laval Rocket, who are shaping up for a long playoff run.
By arriving quickly within the organization, he could be ready when the Canadiens reach their peak. The only question remains-will he be the number one goalie or the backup at that point?
