We have some important news involving a former Montreal Canadiens forward.
More seasoned fans will remember forward Stefan Matteau, who briefly played for the Montreal Canadiens in 2015-2016, after being a first-round pick of the New Jersey Devils at the 2012 draft.
Well, it's officially over for him!
He just announced his retirement as a professional hockey player.

Only 31 years old, Matteau, a 6-foot-2, 211-pound forward, was indeed a first-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2012.
He collected 11 points in 92 career NHL games, including one point with the Montreal Canadiens, and he wrapped up his NHL career in 2022 with the Colorado Avalanche.
Stefan Matteau was indeed part of the Cleveland Monsters, so it's the Laval Rocket who officially ended his career, which must be special for a player who spent all his major junior hockey days with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
He recorded 13 points in 30 games during this final AHL stint.
