A little earlier today, defenseman David Savard appeared before the journalists to answer questions.
Canadiens held a surprise press conference, and he was notably asked about the possibility of returning to work within the organization, as Paul Byron did.
It was as part of the launch of season 2 of the series The Rebuild: Inside the Montreal Canadiens, and the journalists took the opportunity to try to pry answers out of Savard.
David Savard confirms he is in discussions with Kent Hughes for a job in Montreal
This is excellent news.
It confirms what we reported in recent days.
See in particular what the former defenseman explained.
"We've had conversations, you know, there's nothing definitive...
I've said in the past that I'd like to stay around the team and I think they also see potential there, but I think it has to be the right fit on both sides.
They don't hire guys just to hire guys, so we'll see if it works out with a new job."

This happens around the 40th minute of the Montreal Canadiens' press conference.
I'm convinced he could do an incredible job with this young team, especially considering that he already knows all the players.
I'm curious to see what kind of role he could take on, but I really think it would be more in Montreal than in Laval in his case.
