After the big 4-3 win by the Montreal Canadiens against the Dallas Stars, the organization released its traditional victory video.
You can hear the atmosphere, see the smiles, and then you understand why the message "It ends the trip on a good note" really caught on.
On the ice, Lane Hutson's game-winning goal sealed the deal in overtime. It earned two points that feel good on the road, and it changed the tone of the night in just two seconds.
Even through the screen, you can feel that the group needed that moment. In the locker room, Martin St-Louis addressed his players.
Phillip Danault received the wolf's head as player of the game after recording two assists, including the overtime helper to Lane Hutson.
It was Danault's first points since being traded back to Montreal, so it must have felt great for him.
What makes it even sweeter is the small detail on the scoresheet earlier.
On the Canadiens' first goal, the NHL adjusted the sequence and Danault was ultimately credited with an assist instead of a goal, which led him to poke fun at Gallagher during his speech for «stealing his goal.»
In the video, you can also see just how much the guys celebrate for one another. When a road trip ends with an overtime win, that's exactly the kind of image you want.
Here it is, right here:
