Canadiens Make Surprising Line Change Involving Patrik Laine: He's Taking on a New Role

An interesting change has been made to the Montreal Canadiens' lineup ahead of tonight's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Patrik Laine will have a new center and a new veteran role on his line, as he will be paired with young
Owen Beck.
This is a very intriguing decision by Martin St-Louis, and one that I don't dislike at all.
In a press conference just minutes ago, Beck himself announced that he will be playing with Patrik Laine and
Alex Newhook tonight on his team's second line.
What a great promotion for him!
Owen Beck sent to the Canadiens' second line by Martin St-Louis to directly replace Kirby Dach

"Owen Beck will play with Patrik Laine and Alex Newhook tonight."

Owen Beck, 21 years old, 6 feet tall, and 199 pounds, was the Montreal Canadiens' 33rd overall pick in 2022 (2nd round).
He has recorded 32 points in 47 games this season with the Laval Rocket (13 goals), along with 41 penalty minutes and a positive plus-minus of +11.
With the Canadiens, he has no points in six games this season and a -2 plus-minus, but he has played much better than the numbers suggest.
Beck will now have a very clear opportunity to boost his stats starting tonight on his team's second line.
The other lines will remain unchanged.
