We were looking forward to the 4:30 PM press conference, especially to find out who would be in net tonight, but now we already have our answer.
We have another change in net as Samuel Montembeault replaces Jakub Dobes in goal
«Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goalie for the Canadiens in tonight's game against the Maple Leafs.»
- Patrick Friolet, RDS
This means that once again, there will be a change in net, and the same goalie will not stay in goal for two consecutive games.
This is absolutely the logical decision.
Jakub Dobes is sensational, but Samuel Montembeault is also excellent, and above all, he hasn't done anything to deserve being skipped.
Dobes should be back in goal for his team as soon as tomorrow, live from the Bell Centre, facing the New York Rangers.
At 28 years old, 6 feet 3 inches, and 218 pounds, Montembeault has a record of 16-15-3 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.88 and a save percentage of 0.900.
