Canadiens clarify their initial goaltending plan before Montembeault was forced out with illness
We finally have the confirmation we had been waiting for since Saturday night regarding Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault.
There had been a big debate on social media about whether Montembeault would get the start against the St. Louis Blues (Sunday night) or whether Martin St-Louis would send a very strong message by giving Jakub Dobes a second start in two nights.
In the end, we did not get our answer, because Samuel Montembeault was unfortunately forced to withdraw from Sunday night's game due to illness.

After the game against the St. Louis Blues, Martin St-Louis still agreed to put an end to the debate. He confirmed that Montembeault had been scheduled to start against the Blues, but he ultimately couldn't play due to illness.

Everything also indicates that Samuel Montembeault is doing better today, since Kaapo Kahkonen is already back with the Laval Rocket.
