Arber Xhekaj just sent a message to Martin St-Louis and a big invitation to Jacob Trouba
Montreal Canadiens defenseman, Arber Xhekaj, stayed true to himself during the final minutes of today's press conference.
Here's what The Sherrif had to say:
Arber Xhekaj on Trouba's hit on Justin Barron: «Seeing a hit like that, I didn't like it, and I know I probably would have done something if I was in the lineup or dealt with it, for sure, but we'll definitely remember it, and we'll see what happens in the next game.»
- Via Priyanta Emrith Classic Arber Xhekaj! I hope Martin St-Louis gets the message and includes him in the lineup for the next game against the New York Rangers.
The next match in question will take place in just over a month, on November 30th, live from Madison Square Garden.
Also, the way the Sheriff said, «if I was in the lineup,» spoke volumes about his frustration with being stuck in the stands for now.
We can understand it, and it's perfectly normal for a professional athlete, especially someone as passionate as Xhekaj, to want to play and help his team.
Anything else would be truly odd.
Anyway, the message has been sent.
Let's not forget that last night, the tough New York Rangers defenseman, Jacob Trouba, delivered a dangerous hit to the head of the young Justin Barron of the Montreal Canadiens, who was absent from today's practice (day-to-day).
The NHL also announced that Jacob Trouba will not be suspended for the hit.
Despite the danger of the hit, the disciplinary committee ruled that it was perfectly legal and acceptable.
The Sheriff will now have to impose his own sanction on Trouba.
More details to follow.
