Alexandre Texier reportedly turned down a bigger offer to sign with the Canadiens
We have had quite a bit of action with the Montreal Canadiens over the past few days, notably with the acquisition of a new forward standing 6 feet 1 inch tall.
Alexandre Texier signed a one-year, one-million-dollar contract with the Canadiens, as you obviously already know.
However, TVA Sports journalist Nicolas Cloutier reported an interesting new detail in this situation.
Alexandre Texier refused a better offer from another team in order to choose the Montreal Canadiens
We love to hear that.
"Told Texier had more money on the table but he instead went with Mtl's offer.
There were 3 finalists but after careful consideration, Mtl emerged as the best fit."

That is very interesting. Here is also an excerpt from journalist Nicolas Cloutier's article on the matter.
"Alexandre Texier chose Montreal among the three finalists for his services, even though the Canadiens had not made him the most lucrative offer.
That is what TVA Sports learned in the moments following the announcement of his one-year, $1-million contract with the Tricolore."

Texier therefore genuinely wanted to become a member of the Habs, particularly after the challenges he faced with his previous coach.
When he refused the offer from the other team (the better offer), Kent Hughes was immediately contacted by Texier's agent, and Texier then became a Montreal Canadiens player.
Texier, age 26, is a fast forward standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 196 pounds, and he is a second-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets from the 2017 draft.
He has 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and he has recorded 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the past seasons.
This is promising.
