Alexandre Texier at the heart of a special locker room scene after win vs. Flames
We witnessed a great scene Wednesday night at the Bell Centre after the Montreal Canadiens' win over the Calgary Flames.
The wolf head changed hands once again.
After the win against the Calgary Flames, we were treated to a moment that perfectly reflects the Montreal Canadiens right now. The kind of simple moment that says a lot about the atmosphere.
The wolf head for player of the game, which has become a true classic, made another appearance.
We often talk about chemistry on the ice, but you see it after the game as well. In the locker room, the group lives it together, and the guys give each other credit without taking themselves too seriously. The ritual doesn't feel "manufactured," and that's exactly why the fans buy into it.
Phillip Danault knows this market inside out. During his first stint in Montreal, he filled the scoresheet with 194 points in 360 NHL games, including 54 goals.
A great scene involving Phillip Danault and Alexandre Texier
Alexandre Texier, for his part, quickly found his place in the picture. Before arriving in Montreal, he had posted 91 points in 240 NHL games, with 40 goals. And now, he recorded a beautiful NHL milestone with the Habs at home!
When a guy like that comes in and buys into the locker-room culture, it clicks quickly, and it shows every night. He's playing very well.
What makes the scene even more enjoyable is the context surrounding Danault. He was playing his very first game at the Bell Centre since the trade, and he had one heck of a game.
Seeing a veteran hand over the wolf head to a newcomer, with the whole locker room buying in. It's great to see!
