A First Controversial Decision Has Been Made Involving Ivan Demidov Ahead of the Playoffs

Ivan Demidov has quickly become a fan favorite for the Montreal Canadiens. He's an exceptional player, and all the experts agree that he's on track to become a star.
Almost every time he steps on the ice, something positive happens.
That said, it's clear that Martin St-Louis and Ivan Demidov still have some work to do when it comes to building trust in high-pressure moments.
And that's perfectly normal.
However, I hope this won't be the case come playoff time, because Demidov was the least-used forward by Martin St-Louis last night against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Ivan Demidov Benched by His Coach in the Third Period
It flew under the radar since the Canadiens won, and that's totally fine, but I'm not sure you increase your chances of winning by leaving Demidov stuck at the end of the bench.
He was the least-used forward on the team, I'll repeat that (logging just 10 minutes and 29 seconds of ice time), and naturally, it's sparked a strong reaction.
Some are even suggesting that Demidov might be feeling a bit nostalgic (given his past with SKA).
"Ivan Demidov had just one shift in the third period.
I'm sure he's feeling a little nostalgic."

It's far from dramatic, but I'd be disappointed to see Demidov playing only 9 or 10 minutes per game against the Washington Capitals in the first round of the playoffs.
It's valuable experience for him to gain.
Definitely something to watch.
