In life, every human being has the right to give his opinion. Debating in a respectful way is a beautiful facet of life, don't you think? Disagreeing happens REGULARLY when sports enthusiasts, in this case hockey fans, talk to each other. For example, in my opinion, Cole Caufield is an exceptional player and not everyone is in tune with that. That's just the way it is!
But, because there is a "but" in this case, Max Pacioretty is not a better player than Carey Price. We're obviously talking about a forward who plays on the periphery and one of the best goalies on the planet, which he proved in the last few playoffs, so comparisons are nearly impossible. Except when NHL Network released its list of the 50 best players in the world. How is it possible to see Carey at ranked at number 50 and Patch at number 47?
I want to believe that Price didn't have a great 2021 regular season, as he struggled with some boo-boos, and that Max Pacioretty showed a 51-point scorecard in 48 games, but in the playoffs, number 31 has risen like a leader. Pacioretty also did well in the playoffs, but did he carry the torch as well as Carey Price did so wonderfully?
Let's be serious, if Carey Price is still recognized as one of the best goaltenders in the world, second only to Andrei Vasilevskiy, according to many, shouldn't he be well ahead of Pacioretty? Observation: this list is only based on the 2021 regular season. I don't see any other way...
