Good Sunday morning to all! What could be better than a convincing CH victory to put a smile on the face of the fans? However, the Predators almost turned things around in the third period thanks to a hat trick from Matt Duchene. Imagine the disaster if the Preds had come from behind and won the game...
It was Samuel Montembeault who got the start for the Tricolore and it was he who scored the win. He became the first Quebec goalie since Jose Theodore in 2006 to win at the Bell Centre. As they say, it's been a while!
That's not all! Ryan Poehling also scored two quick goals in less than 37 seconds. The CH's first round pick in 2017 had a great game and earned the first star of the game. By the way, he is the first since Guillaume Latendresse in 2006 to score two goals in under 40 seconds.
Let's hope that the Tricolore will build on this game and have another good game on Wednesday night against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. Remember, the Habs have not been able to string together back-to-back regular season wins since six months ago in May 2021. This will be a big challenge, as Ovi is on fire this year with 29 points, including 14 goals in just 18 games.
