After a colorful training camp, the verdict is about to be officially out on whether or not forward Shane Wright will start the season in the National Hockey League, but we obviously already have the answer.
In a recent interview that was just released, Seattle Kraken general manager Ron Francis told the excellent journalist Pierre LeBrun this:
"Shane Wright will obviously play the entire season with the Seattle Kraken, according to general manager Ron Francis. [...]
And when in doubt, I made sure to ask (Francis) if Wright would start the year in Seattle.
"I would think so, I would think he starts the season in Seattle," Francis said (with a small smirk).
For the entire season, I asked?
"I don't want to draw a definitive line yet, but I think he's with us for the year," Francis said. "It's just a matter of how things go and how you handle it. ... But I hope he's going to be OK, I think he's going to be OK."
- From an article by Pierre LeBrun on The Athletic
So the verdict clearly seems to have already fallen, and despite pitfalls, poor performances in preseason games, and "tantrums directed at coaches," Shane Wright will finally have won his bet to play in the National Hockey League immediately.
You can guess that this is causing a lot of reaction and that there are many comments about it, right now, on social networks. This is a big decision for the Kraken.
It will be interesting to follow his progression with the Seattle Kraken, he has a huge potential as a hockey player. Will he be a serious candidate to be the Rookie of the Year in 2022-23? Will he really play all 82 games? To be seen!
What is your prediction for Shane Wright?
